Claus Scheiderer completed his PhD at the University of Erlangen in 1985, and earned his habilitation at the University of Regensburg in 1993. In 1999, he became a professor of algebra at the University of Duisburg. Since 2004, Claus has been a professor of geometry at the University of Konstanz. His research interests include real algebraic geometry and its applications.
