I will be talking about saving the world with balls and bins. As in classic consistent hashing, we are assigning balls/clients to a dynamic set of bins/servers, but our solution offers far better load balancing. It was adopted by companies like Google Cloud and Vimeo, and Vimeo reported an 8-fold decrease in bandwidth consumption plus much higher stability.
