Abstract
Zonotopal algebra studies special multivariate polynomials that encode, simultaneously, combinatorial properties of linear matroids, analytic properties of box splines, and various graph statistics. After a brief introduction to the main constructions in that area, I will focus on their intriguing potential uses in analysis and combinatorics.
