Abstract
Vinay Shet is a Director of Product Management at Lyft leading their Mapping efforts specifically focused on Lyft’s selfdriving car initiatives. Prior to Lyft, Vinay was at Google as the product lead for Google Maps’ Road Network and Navigation data. At Google, he led the team that pioneered the use of machine learning to create maps data from street level and aerial imagery creating one of the largest sources of Geo Data within Google Maps. Prior to that, he was the Product Manager for Street View as well as reCAPTCHA launching their “I’m not a robot” CAPTCHA. Vinay has a PhD in Computer Science focusing on Computer Vision from University of Maryland, College Park.
