Zixia Wei
Zixia Wei is currently at Harvard University, and his reseach explores the microscopic nature of gravity through the holographic principle and its connections to statistical physics, condensed matter physics, information theory, and computational theory. His previous work has examined how the relationship between entanglement and spacetime can shed light on the emergence of geometry, proposed new information-theoretic quantities involving measurement, and employed statistical and informational methods in many-body systems to characterize black hole microstates. He has also applied holographic principle to study thermalization processes and critical phenomenon in condensed matter systems. Wei’s current research aims to extend the holographic principle to more general spacetimes—including our own universe, investigate the computational power of systems involving gravity, and explore the observer dependence and independence in gravity when the measurement process is taken into account.
