Varun Suriyanarayana

Varun is participating in the Algorithmic Foundations for Emerging Computing Technologies program at Simons. Varun completed his PhD at Cornell University under the supervision of David Shmoys. During this time he also spent a year at Microsoft Research India where he worked on problems related to Approximate Nearest Neighbors Search. Varuns' research interests include discrete optimization problems from the perspective of modern considerations such as algorithmic fairness, predictions and (in the online setting) recourse operations.
