Vangelis Markakis

Assistant Professor, Athens University of Economics and Business

Evangelos Markakis (Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2000; PhD in Computer Science, 2005) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He has held appointments as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Toronto (August 2005 - December 2006) and the Center for Math and Computer Science (CWI, Amsterdam, January 2007 - July 2008). His research interests include design and analysis of algorithms, algorithmic game theory, mechanism design and its applications, electronic commerce and social networks. He has been a member of the EU COST action IC1205 on Computational Social Choice, and has participated in basic research projects funded by the EU and by the national government of Greece. He has also served several times on program committees of international conferences on algorithmic game theory and theoretical computer science, and is a member of the European Association of Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS).
