Hakubi research team leader, RIKEN

Tomotaka Kuwahara currently holds the position of Team Leader at the RIKEN Hakubi Research Team, with his main duty in the RIKEN Cluster for Pioneering Research (CPR). Additionally, he also serves as a researcher at the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing (RQC). He is specializing in the field of quantum complexity analysis and promoting the understanding and application of quantum computing technologies

In his career, he has made significant contributions to the field of quantum complexity analysis. He has been a Leader in the RIKEN Hakubi Research Team since April 2022, and concurrently a JST PRESTO Researcher since October 2021. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Scientist at the RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project (AIP) from October 2017 to March 2022. He has also served as an Assistant Professor at the Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR) at Tohoku University from January 2016 to September 2017. Moreover, he was a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) at The University of Tokyo in 2015. He earned his Doctorate in Physics from the Graduate School of Science at The University of Tokyo in March 2015.
