Niba Audrey (@NotesByNiba) is a multimedia science communicator and video host who creates stories that bring research to life. She hosts for SciShow and KQED’s Big Ideas and has produced videos for PBS, Seeker, Stanford, and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Her PBS series Hungry Planet explores the science and culture of food around the world. Before moving into media, Niba spent seven years as a plant developmental geneticist, a foundation that grounds her storytelling in curiosity and evidence.
Through her agency-signed social media platforms, she shares curiosity-driven science stories that connect research to everyday life. Her hosting and production work has reached millions of viewers across digital and broadcast platforms. She’s fascinated by how different beings think and communicate, whether plants, octopuses, humans, or artificial intelligence. Her work has been recognized with fellowships from AAAS, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Jackson Wild, the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing, and the STEM Advocate Institute.
