Katherine Tsai

Katherine is a postdoctoral scholar in the Machine Learning Research Pod at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing, hosted by Bin Yu and Peter Bartlett. Her research interests span across statistics, causal inference, AI evaluation, and dynamic systems. Katherine earned her PhD in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, under the supervision of Sanmi Koyejo. During her PhD, she was an intern at Google Brain and Intel AI Research team, and a visiting scholar at Stanford University. In between her graduate school and postdoctoral years, she worked at Apple Evaluation team.
