Edgar Solomonik

Edgar Solomonik is an Associate Professor in the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His research centers around the design of algorithms and high-performance libraries for numerical linear algebra, most notably in tensor computations. Prof. Solomonik received his PhD at University of California, Berkeley and was a postdoctoral fellow at ETH Zurich. His dissertation research was awarded the 2016 Alston S. Householder prize in the field of numerical linear algebra. He has been recepient of a number of early career awards, including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (2025).
