Donya Sales
Donya Saless is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC). Her research explores well-defined aspects of safety and trustworthiness in machine learning, including robustness, reliability, and explainability with provable guarantees. She develops algorithmic and statistical frameworks to study these properties and is increasingly interested in the agentic perspective of models such as human-AI collaboration and model personalization under formal safety, efficiency, and correctness constraints.
Donya began her PhD research under the supervision of Avrim Blum in March 2024 and has since held visiting appointments at Carnegie Mellon University and Columbia University. She previously completed her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering as well as Computer Engineering at the University of Tehran, Iran.
