Davin Choo
Davin is currently a PhD student at the National University of Singapore, advised by Arnab Bhattacharyya. For his undergraduate studies, Davin obtained a double degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the National University of Singapore. He then worked for 2 years as an applied research scientist before completing a Masters in Computer Science at ETH Zurich.
Davin is broadly interested in designing practical algorithms with theoretical guarantees, and analyzing existing heuristics by providing guarantees for them under real-world assumptions. He has worked on various research projects ranging from clustering problems, SAT solvers, and cross-disciplinary projects such as chemical structure elucidation from mass spectrometry. More recently, he is interested in how oracles and side information can be used in a principled manner to provide improved performance across different problems.
