Symposium on Visions of the Theory of Computing | Flashback
In May 2013, the Simons Institute hosted our inaugural public event — a symposium on Visions of the Theory of Computing. This forward-looking symposium brought together an array of scientific leaders to share their visions of the future of the field. The event was held at Stanley Hall on the UC Berkeley campus while a construction team was putting the finishing touches on the renovation of Calvin Lab.
As we plan our 10th-anniversary symposium for May 2022, we invite you to look back at the videos from the 2013 event, with talks by Josh Bloom, Bernard Chazelle, Maria Chudnovsky, Shafi Goldwasser, David Haussler, Jeff Hawkins, Jon Kleinberg, Daphne Koller, Marc Mézard, S. Muthu Muthukrishnan, Christos Papadimitriou, Judea Pearl, John Preskill, Prabhakar Raghavan, Alvin Roth, Ned Seeman, Leslie Valiant, and Avi Wigderson.
