Simons Institute Associate Director Sandy Irani Named an ACM Fellow

Simons Institute Associate Director Sandy Irani is one of 57 ACM members who have been named 2022 ACM fellows. ACM bestowed this honor on her for her "contributions to the theory of online algorithms and quantum complexity theory."

"The ACM Fellows program recognizes the top 1% of ACM Members for their outstanding accomplishments in computing and information technology and/or outstanding service to ACM and the larger computing community. Fellows are nominated by their peers, with nominations reviewed by a distinguished selection committee," ACM stated in a press release on January 18.

Sandy Irani joined the Simons Institute as associate director in August 2022. She is also a full professor at the University of California, Irvine.
