Irit Dinur joined the faculty of the Weizmann Institute in 2007. In 2024 she joined the math faculty of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. Prof. Dinur's research focuses on theoretical computer science, and especially in error-correcting codes and probabilistically checkable proofs. In 2006 she published a new proof of the PCP theorem based on expander gap amplification. She is currently interested in high-dimensional expansion—an analogue of expander graphs that draws on group theory, topology, and combinatorics. Prof. Dinur was a plenary speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in 2010, and is the recipient of the Godel Award (2019), the PODS Alberto O. Mendelzon Test-of- Time Award, the 2021 Kanellakis theory and practice award, and the 2026 Michael and Sheila Held prize.
