Whiteboard Talk: Practical Preconditioning Techniques

Preconditioning is essential for accelerating the convergence of iterative solvers for large and sparse linear systems. In this talk we will describe a few practical and broadly used preconditioning techniques, including Incomplete factorizations, multigrid, sparse approximate inverse techniques, and block preconditioners for saddle-point systems.
