The Simons Institute's Science Communicator in Residence, Siobhan Roberts, will reflect on her pandemic reporting so far and the importance of scientific uncertainty.
Siobhan is a Canadian author and journalist, currently a contributor to The New York Times' “Science Times,” and working on a book about the mathematical logician Verena Huber-Dyson (Pantheon). She has written for Quanta, The New Yorker's Elements science & tech blog, and The Walrus, among numerous publications. She is the author, most recently, of Genius at Play: The Curious Mind of John Horton Conway (Bloomsbury, 2015). Her first book, King of Infinite Space: Donald Coxeter, the Man Who Saved Geometry (Bloomsbury, 2006), won the Mathematical Association of America’s Euler Prize for expanding the public’s view of mathematics. She also wrote and produced a documentary film about Coxeter, The Man Who Saved Geometry, for TVOntario’s The View From Here (September 2009).
