Description

Writing About Your Work for a Popular Audience

This workshop is an opportunity for you to practice writing about your work for the general public -- a college freshman, or a colleague in another department, or your second cousin. The structure of the workshop will be as follows: Participants will write short (250-500-word) blurbs about their research ahead of time, to be turned in a few days before the workshop. (Feel free to write about someone else's research instead of your own, provided it is modern work.) During the workshop, we'll analyze these blurbs together. Participants who don't want to write are still welcome to attend the workshop, but we need a critical mass of blurbs, so if you are interested in writing, please let me know asap at klarreic [at] nasw.org.
