Abstract
Quantum chemistry is one of the most promising applications of quantum computing. The goal of this talk is to introduce quantum chemistry to computer scientists, cutting through the jargon to explain the main algorithmic challenges. I will start with the fundamentals and main problem of interest, the electronic structure problem. I will then discuss quantum-algorithmic approaches to solving it.
