Victor Dalmau

Associate Professor, Universitat Pompeu Fabra

Victor Dalmau was born in Sudanell, Spain. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Information & Communication Technologies at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Dalmau obtained his PhD in Computer Science at the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Santa Cruz for the 2000-2001 academic year, and joined the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2002. Dalmau's research is on theoretical aspects of constraint satisfaction, which is the problem of deciding whether there exists an assignment of values to variables satisfying some given restrictions. He is also interested broadly in complexity theory, logic in computer science, and computational learning theory.
