Sui Tang

Professor, UCSB

Sui Tang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of California Santa Barbara. Before that, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University from 2016-2020. She received her PhD in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University in 2016. Sui is interested in employing and developing techniques in StatisticalLearning, Harmonic Analysis, Approximation Theory, and Probability to solve problems in the interface of machine learning, inverse problems, signal processing, and dynamical systems. Part of her work is motivated by the need to exploit dynamical data sets in dynamical systems that exhibit collective behavior to perform inference with provable performance and build generalizable and interpretable predictive models. She is also interested in studying the sampling and reconstruction strategy for diffusion processes arising in mathematical and statistical signal processing problems.
