Soledad Villar earned her PhD in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2017, supervised by Rachel Ward. Before that, she received a Masters in number theory and Bachelors in Mathematics from the Universidad de la Republica in Uruguay, and a Bachelors in Computer Science from the Universidad Catolica del Uruguay. In June 2017, Villar joined the Center for Data Science at New York University, and the Algorithms and Geometry collaboration at the Simons Foundation in New York City as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
