Satya Lokam is a senior researcher at Microsoft Research in Bangalore, India, where he leads research efforts in cryptography and complexity. His research interests include computational and communication complexity, especially lower bounds using algebraic tools. He also works in cryptography, specifically in digital signatures, anonymous credentials, attribute based/functional encryption, and more generally encryption methods that combine security and functionality. Before moving to Microsoft Research in 2006, Satya was a faculty member at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He received his PhD from the University of Chicago and held postdoctoral positions at University of Toronto and Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
- Algorithms and Complexity in Algebraic Geometry, Fall 2014. Visiting Scientist.
