Raimundo Briceño is a PhD candidate in the Department of Mathematics at The University of British Columbia, under the supervision of Prof. Brian Marcus. His research lies in the interface of symbolic dynamics and statistical mechanics, with special emphasis in the study of Gibbs measures, their spatial mixing properties and approximation of thermodynamic quantities.
