Qian Yang

Assistant Professor, Cornell University

Qian Yang is a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) researcher, with a specific interest in understanding machine intelligence as a material for user experience design. She has created systems across many critical human-AI collaboration domains, including clinical decision-making, AI-assisted writing, autonomous driving, and accessibility. Reflecting on this related vein of research, she developed theoretical frameworks, practical methods, and tools for designing human-centered AI systems. Yang is an ACM SIGCHI Outstanding Dissertation Award winner, CCSS Accelerated Research Fellow, and former Machine Learning and Health Fellow.
