Niangjun Chen

Niangjun Chen is a PhD candidate in the Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the California Institute of Technology, where he is a member of the Rigorous Systems Research Group (RSRG) and Netlab. He received his BA degree in Computer Science from University of Cambridge of United Kingdom in 2011 and worked as a research engineer in Institute of Infocomm Technology in Singapore in 2012. His research interests include online algorithms, optimization, and game theory. More specifically, his work focuses on developing analytic techniques for competitive analysis of online algorithms using prediction and mechanism design, and applying these techniques to application domains such as the control of power system, data centers and electricity markets.
