Neil Mallinar

Neil Mallinar is a PhD student at University of California San Diego, advised by Mikhail Belkin. Prior to UCSD, Neil worked at Pryon Inc and IBM as a Research Engineer. Before that, he received his BS in Mathematics & Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University, where he wrote his Senior Thesis advised by Raman Arora.

Neil’s interests lie at the intersection of empirical and theoretical research agendas, specifically with regard to machine learning, deep learning theory, and computational genomics/bioinformatics, which he works on in conjunction with The Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard.
