Mahsa Derakhshan

Northeastern University

Mahsa is a final-year Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Maryland. She will join Northeastern as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2022, and before that, she will be a Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley. During her Ph.D. Mahsa has spent a year as an intern at Google and Microsoft Research and two semesters as a visiting student at Simons Institute for the theory of computing at UC Berkeley. Mahsa primarily uses her background in algorithmic game theory and the foundations of big data algorithms to design algorithms for modern markets, such as matching markets and auctions. Her research is currently supported by the Ann G. Wylie Dissertation Fellowship and the 2020 Google Ph.D. Fellowship for Algorithms, Optimizations, and Markets.
