Graduate Student, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Ludwig Schmidt is currently a PhD student at MIT, advised by Piotr Indyk. After graduating in summer 2017, Ludwig will be a postdoc at Berkeley working with Ben Recht and Martin Wainwright. Ludwig’s research interests revolve around algorithmic aspects of machine learning, statistics, and signal processing. Ludwig's work often combines ideas from combinatorial algorithms and continuous optimization. Ludwig received a Google PhD Fellowship, a Simons-Berkeley research fellowship, and a best paper award at the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML).
