Luc Devroye

Professor, McGill University

Luc Devroye was born and raised in Tienen, Belgium. Luc went to the University of Leuven (Belgium) and studied for two years at Osaka University (Japan). He obtained a PhD degree from the University of Texas in 1976 under the supervision of Terry Wagner, and joined the School of Computer Science at McGill University in 1977. He fights against income inequality, bureaucracy and (internet) mob justice as well as for truly universal healthcare, and free education for all. Luc will never retire.
