Jaroslaw Buczynski

Professor, Polish Academy of Sciences

Jaroslaw Buczynski is from Warsaw, Poland where he finished both his undergraduate studies in math and his PhD. Following his PhD he worked in Warwick, Canterbury, College Station, Grenoble and Djursholm. Since February 2012 he has worked at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, and also at the University of Warsaw. His research interests include secant varieties, ranks of tensors and symmetric tensors (and partially symmetric ones), toric varieties, Calabi-Yau varieties and K3 surfaces, Fano contact manifolds and the LeBrun-Salamon conjecture, and complex Legendrian varieties.
