Gongguo Tang

Gongguo Tang received his BSc degree in Mathematics from Shandong University, China, in 2003, and the MSc degree in Control and Operations Research from Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, in 2006, and the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, MO, in 2011. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison and is visiting Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing, University of California, Berkeley. He will be joining Colorado School of Mines as an assistant professor in Spring 2014. His research focuses on leveraging convex optimization, statistics, and information theory to solve problems in signal and information processing, large scale data analysis, and machine learning. Applications of interest include compressive sensing, radar sensing, sensor array and network, computer vision, electromagnetics, bioinformatics, and social network and media.
