Fang Song is an assistant professor in the department of computer science and engineering at Texas A&M University. He received his PhD from Pennsylvania State University in 2013, and spent three productive years as a post-doctoral fellow in the Institute for Quantum Computing in Waterloo, Canada. His research goal is to understand the strengths and limits of quantum computing, so that he can design better algorithms and develop novel schemes in cryptography and cybersecurity that are safe against quantum attackers. He is usually busy with proving theorems, but whenever possible, he loves going for a hike or reading about architecture and psychology.
