Diana Halikias is a Simons-Berkeley research fellow at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing during the fall of 2025. She studies matrix-vector query complexity in randomized numerical linear algebra. Specifically, she focuses on algorithms for structured matrix recovery related to operator learning. In January of 2026, she will start as a Courant Instructor in the Department of Mathematics at NYU's Courant Institute. Previously, she received a PhD in mathematics in 2025 from Cornell University, where she was advised by Alex Townsend. She received a B.A. in mathematics from Yale University in 2020.
