Chin-Chia Hsu

Chin-Chia Hsu is a postdoctoral researcher at Microsoft’s Office of Applied Research. He obtained his PhD in Social and Engineering Systems from Institute for Data, Systems and Society (IDSS) at MIT, advised by Ali Jadbabaie. Prior to MIT, he obtained his BS in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University. He studies decision making of individuals who interact on social media platforms in an environment with real and false information. Chin-Chia investigates how these individual behaviors can evolve to large-scale social phenomena such as information sharing cascades. He establishes and analyzes models using tools and techniques from game theory, optimization, microeconomics, and probability theory.
