Ayush Sekhari

Postdoctoral Researcher, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Ayush Sekhari is a final year PhD student at Cornell University, advised by Karthik Sridharan and Robert Kleinberg. His research focuses on developing theoretical foundations of modern machine learning. He is currently working in the areas of stochastic optimization, reinforcement learning, and machine unlearning (right to be forgotten). Before coming to Cornell, Ayush did his undergrad at IIT Kanpur, India, and then spent a year at Google Brain as a part of the Brain Residency program. During his PhD, Ayush did internships at TTIC, Google Research, and University of Alberta (AMII), CA. Ayush has won several awards including a best student paper award at COLT 2019, and President's Gold medal at IIT Kanpur.  Ayush will be starting as a postdoc at Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) at MIT in Fall 2022.
