Andreas Schmid

Andreas Schmid is a fourth year PhD student under the supervision of Parinya Chalermsook at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken, Germany. He did his bachelor studies in Computer Science and Telecommunication at the University of Applied Sciences in Leipzig (HfTL). Schmid then moved to Saarland University, where he focused his studies on theoretical computer science, leading to an MSc degree. His research interests lie in Approximation Algorithms, Graph Theory and Graph Algorithms, and his recent work mostly revolves around optimization problems in planar graphs.
