Ananya Uppal

Ananya Uppal is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for the Foundations of Machine Learning at UT Austin. Her research has been focused on statistical aspects of machine learning. She is also interested in exploring the mathematics of optimization techniques commonly used and how these pieces fit together to explain the success of machine learning algorithms on real-world data. Recently her work on statistical convergence results on GANs was awarded an honorable mention for the Outstanding Paper award at NeurIPS 2019.
