Alma Ghafari
Alma Ghafari is a doctoral student in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston. She is advised by Soheil Behnezhad.
Alma joined Khoury College in 2023 to pursue a doctorate in computer science, focusing on clustering and graph algorithms. She is passionate about research and loves to solve theoretical problems that contain real-life applications. Ghafari is due to complete her doctorate in 2028.
Before joining Khoury College, Alma worked as a research intern at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, working on algorithms and computational geometry. Alma also worked as a research intern at the Max Planck Institute for Computer Science, working on fairness in clustering. She was awarded the gold medal in the 37th Iranian National Mathematical Olympiad in 2018.
