Akshay Ramachandran

Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Amsterdam

Akshay Ramachandran is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam and CWI in the Netherlands, hosted by Professors Michael Walter and Daniel Dadush. Prior to this, he earned a PhD at the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Professor Lap Chi Lau.

His research focus is on algorithms for convex optimization, specifically extensions to optimization over groups and Riemann manifolds. He is also interested in areas where such algorithms have been applied, such as quantum information theory, statistics, machine learning, and numerical linear algebra.
