Women in Theory, May 2020

On Sunday, May 10, 2020, the Simons Institute hosted an online gathering of Women in Theory.

The biennial Women in Theory (WIT) Workshop is intended for graduate and exceptional undergraduate students in the area of theory of computer science. The workshop features technical talks and tutorials by senior and junior women in the field, as well as social events and activities. The motivation for the workshop is twofold. The first goal is to deliver an invigorating educational program; the second is to bring together theory women students from different institutions to foster a sense of kinship and camaraderie, and create collaborations.

The workshop scheduled to take place at the Simons Institute in June 2020 has been postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year, in lieu of the formal meeting, the group gathered online for a highly successful three-hour community-building event through Zoom.

As an accompaniment to the event, the group produced this video.
