We are delighted to share Episode 3 of Berkeley in the 80s, a series of interviews with Turing laureates whose award-winning research on the theory of computing was conducted at UC Berkeley.

This episode features Silvio Micali, in conversation with Simons Institute Director Shafi Goldwasser.

Micali was awarded the ACM A.M. Turing Award in 2012 jointly with Goldwasser “for transformative work that laid the complexity-theoretic foundations for the science of cryptography, and in the process pioneered new methods for efficient verification of mathematical proofs in complexity theory.” You can learn more about Silvio’s pioneering work here.
