Professor,
Texas A&M University

Liu is an Owen Professor of Mathematics at Texas A&M University. He joined the department in 2019 after earning his PhD in 2015 from Fudan University and completing a postdoc at the University of California, Irvine. Liu’s research focuses on using spectral theory to solve problems in mathematical physics, particularly those involving periodic and quasiperiodic systems. More recently, he has become interested in spectral graph theory and its applications to theoretical computing problems.
