Martina serves as the Institute's Visitor Services Coordinator. Prior to joining the Simons Institute, she conducted social science research in Yosemite National Park and Daniel Boone National Forest. Martina holds an Erasmus Mundus MA in Transcultural European Outdoor Studies from Philipps-Universität Marburg (Germany), the University of Cumbria (England) and the Norges Idrettshogskole (Norway), as well as a BA summa cum laude in Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Connecticut. Originally from Bulgaria, Martina identifies as a citizen of the world, and loves exploring different cultures and landscapes.
