AI and TCS: The Next Six Months
Earlier this month, the Simons Institute convened a group of theoretical computer scientists from academia and industry to develop a set of recommendations for how this research community should respond to the increasing power and influence of AI. Through a series of facilitated small and large group discussions, the team converged on a set of twelve concrete near-term recommended actions, on such topics as AI use disclosure, conference submission evaluation, and the role of AI in graduate education, to name a few.
Their report, “AI and TCS: The Next Six Months,” was released this Monday. The document is available on the working group webpage, where we will also be keeping track of actions undertaken in the months to come.
