Richard Samworth

Richard Samworth is currently a Reader in Statistics at the University of Cambridge, having completed his PhD under the supervision of Alastair Young (also at Cambridge) in 2004. His main research interests are in nonparametric and high-dimensional statistics. Particular topics include shape-constrained density and other nonparametric function estimation problems, nonparametric classification, clustering, regression, independent component analysis, the bootstrap and high-dimensional variable selection problems. Samworth currently serves on the Institute for Mathematical Statistics Council and the Royal Statistical Society Council, and is an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B, the Annals of Statistics, Biometrika and Statistica Sinica.
