Rahul Jain

Professor, University of Southern California

Rahul Jain has been an associate professor and the K. C. Dahlberg Early Career Chair in the electrical department at University of Southern California (and by courtesy in the CS and ISE departments) since 2008. Prior to that, he was with the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center from 2006 to 2008.

He has been awarded the ONR Young Investigator Award (2012), the NSF CAREER Award (2010), the IBM Faculty Award (2010), and the James H. Zumberge Faculty Research Award (2009), and currently serves as a US Fulbright Commission Specialist (2017-2020). One of his students was recently awarded the Lajos Takács Thesis Award in Queueing Theory (2016). Jain’s research interests span stochastic systems and optimization, statistical learning, risk-aware optimization, queueing networks, and game theory. He has held visiting professor appointments at Stanford, UC Berkeley, and TIFR Mumbai.
