Graduate Student, UC Berkeley

Raaz Dwivedi is a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of EECS at the University of California, Berkeley where he is jointly advised by BMW-Y:  Martin Wainwright and Bin Yu. His research interests center around developing a theoretical understanding of algorithms used in statistics, optimization and machine learning. In the past, he has worked on theoretical guarantees for EM algorithm and optimization based sampling algorithms. More recently, his interests are in the theory of neural networks. Before coming to Berkeley, he graduated from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay with a B. Tech. (Honors) in Electrical Engineering and Minors in Mathematics where he also received the President of India Gold Medal, the Institute Silver Medal, and the Best B. Tech Project Award during his graduation.
