K. V. Rashmi

K. V. Rashmi is a PhD candidate at EECS UC Berkeley, advised by Kannan Ramchandran. Her research interests lie in the theoretical and practical challenges that arise in storage and analysis of big data, with a current focus on erasure coding for distributed storage systems. She is a recipient of IEEE Data Storage Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards for 2011 and 2012, Facebook Fellowship 2012-13, and Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship 2013-15. Prior to joining UC Berkeley, she graduated from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore with a Master of Engineering degree from the Dept. of Electrical and Communication Engineering, advised by P. Vijay Kumar.
